  5. Heating: Before extrusion, the billets need to be heated to a suitable temperature to make the aluminum more malleable and easier to extrude. The heating process is typically carried out in a furnace, where the billets are heated to a specific temperature based on the alloy's characteristics and the extrusion process requirements.

  6. Handling and Storage: After heating, the billets are handled carefully to avoid any surface damage or deformations. They are usually transferred to a holding furnace to maintain the desired temperature until they are ready to be loaded into the extrusion press. Proper handling and storage are critical to preserving the billets' quality and ensuring consistent extrusion results.
